Arizona Gold & Silver Inc (TSX-V:AZS) on Tuesday released a non-resource Technical Report on its Philadelphia gold-silver property in Arizona, covering historical exploration pre-dating the company's involvement while outlining recent activities encompassing 141 drill holes. The company’s vice president of exploration Greg Hahn spoke with Proactive following the release, describing his excitement for the project and outlining some future plans.
Proactive: Your company released interesting news today, a 43-101 non-resource Technical Report on the Philadelphia property. Please tell us a little bit about this report.
Greg Hahn: It was time for us to put out a technical report, as we've been working on the project diligently for four years. We have a lot of people looking at the project, a lot of high net worth investors and potential strategic partners, and they've asked for a report that summarizes everything we've done to date on the project. So that's what we've done.
Proactive: And it's not only what you've done, there's also some historical work in there as well. So, it really gives us a full capsulation of exactly what's happened at the Philadelphia project. Is that what you're talking about?
Greg Hahn: That’s correct. There was some historical work done there before we came on the property and the author of the report, who's independent from Arizona, came up with some additional information that we weren't aware of. So, there's some interesting information on the history of the project as well as all the work we've done since our inception.
Proactive: Now, people might be wondering why there's no resource attached to this. And there's a reason behind that, because there's still more work, and in the news release you’ve talked about the work that you're going to do to take that next step, correct?
Greg Hahn: Exactly, this is a big system and although we have an aggregate 140 holes in the system there's still large gaps in between the data that need to be filled before we can do a resource calculation. So that's highlighted and pretty much quantified in the report as well.
Proactive: Now that you've had a chance to take a bit of a step back and look at the work you've accomplished and what's been done and really what's ahead, you're still excited about this project, I would imagine?
Greg Hahn: Yes, I think it's an excellent project. It's still wide open, particularly the south and the east and along dip down at depth as well. It needs a lot of work done in order to be able to fully quantify it though.
Proactive: Does this remind you of anything you've worked on in the past or is this pretty typical for what you've seen in the type of environment in which Philadelphia is located?
Greg Hahn: Well, it's bigger than anything I've worked on in the past and reminds me of projects other people have worked on and I’ve admired, but this was the first one for me of this magnitude.
Proactive: Finally, one last question. You mentioned you want to get some drilling done as well as filling in the gaps, so if you can just highlight what it is you're planning for next year.
Greg Hahn: The technical report outlines the need for about 7500 meters of additional drilling and we intend to do that with both a RC rig and a core rig once we get those available on the property and have adequate funding in order to be able to do that. That will take us about six months worth of work and then we can do a research report afterwards.
