Liberty Star Uranium & Metals Corp. (OTC:LBSR), dba Liberty Star Minerals, is gearing up for diamond core drilling at its gold and copper prospects in southeast Arizona.
The company has partnered with NISS Drilling Services for the gold exploration program around Red Rock Canyon.
Drilling will also extend to HMP Target 1 near the Red Rock Canyon prospect, the company said in a statement.
The plan involves drilling about 250 feet per hole at Red Rock Canyon, focusing on historic drill sites previously explored for gold. Additionally, deeper drilling is scheduled for a promising area within the adjacent Hay Mountain Target 1 region.
Hay Mountain contains porphyry copper, gold, molybdenum, and other commercially valuable minerals.
Liberty Star believes that both project areas may contain valuable metals, including rare earth minerals associated with copper-gold-molybdenum bodies. The company has identified specific exploration targets for near-surface and deep-seated ore bodies, leveraging the presence of analogous structures in the vicinity.
The project has undergone extensive scientific investigation, including aeromagnetic imaging, 3-D modeling, and various geochemical studies. While the exact number of drill pads is yet to be determined, Liberty Star anticipates the drilling to kick off in the next few months.
“Engaging a world-class drilling service for our first test of our gold and copper properties is an important milestone for Liberty Star,” Pete O’Heeron, Board Chair of Liberty Star, said in a statement.
“We’ve done the necessary geoscientific studies, and now it is time to see the proof of the area’s potential through core analysis.”
Arizona-based Liberty Star is actively engaged in acquiring and exploring mineral properties in the mineral-rich regions of Arizona and the southwestern US.
