Salesforce chief executive Marc Benioff has looked to entice staff from OpenAI to his company as the ChatGPT creator faces backlash over the dismissal of chief executive Sam Altman.
Following threats by hundreds of staff to quit unless Altman was reappointed, Benioff took to X - formerly Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) - to offer the same group jobs at Salesforce.
“Salesforce will match any OpenAI researcher who has tendered their resignation full cash and open trade equity to immediately join our Salesforce Einstein Trusted AI research team,” he posted on Monday.
Salesforce’s AI platform Einstein is among “the most successful” for enterprises, he added, “completing one trillion predictive and generative transactions this week”.

His mass job offer comes after Altman was shunned by OpenAI’s board last week, which claims it had lost confidence in his leadership.
This prompted outrage among the company’s staff, who threatened resignations if he was not reappointed.
Altman himself has been offered a role heading up Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s AI team since being given the boot on Friday, though where he ultimately ends up remains to be seen.
