Leeds United-owner 49ers Enterprises has agreed to sell a minority stake in the Championship football club and is open to further offers, according to reports.
Having taken control of the club in July, 49ers agreed the deal with part owner of National Hockey League side Seattle Kraken, Ackerley Partners, according to Bloomberg.
This in turn will see investment firm Ackerley grant further financial backing for Leeds as the Yorkshire-based club aims to reclaim a spot in the top flight of English football.
Leeds was relegated from the Premier League in May, with the prospect of a swift return said to have been a key factor in the deal.
The club’s subsequent sale by former majority shareholder Andrea Radrizzani valued Leeds at around £170 million.
According to Bloomberg, which cited a statement from the current owner, 49ers is eyeing investment from another party in a bid to secure further strategic backing for the club’s commercial operations.
