Empire Metals Ltd (AIM:EEE) told investors that the latest drill results from the Pitfield project in Western Australia have confirmed "strong" titanium mineralization.
Strong titanium mineralisation was confirmed throughout the entire first Diamond Core drill hole, from surface to end of hole at around 408 metres, the company noted.
It supports the company’s expectation for the presence of a “district scale” system containing multiple, thick higher-grade titanium zones.
Detailed results from the diamond drilling are expected “shortly” and together with today’s results are expected to provide insights into mineralogy, grades and geological controls.
A reverse circulation drill programme will follow, targeting the higher-grade areas.
"I am delighted to report the lab results from our first diamond drill hole, which was positioned towards the northern end of the massive 40km by 8km by 5km deep hydrothermal mineral system,” managing director Shaun Bunn said in a statement.
He added: “The next phase of drilling has now commenced, consisting of 40 RC drill holes which doubles that drilled in our maiden RC drill campaign.
“We expect this to be another highly successful campaign, one which will establish not only the district scale of this giant mineral system but also the potential for extensive, higher-grade zones of titanium mineralisation."
