Intelligent Ultrasound Group PLC (AIM:MED) stock burst into life after the company revealed its new artificial intelligence-based ultrasound technology has been rolled out as standard in GE HealthCare ultrasound machines.
Its share price ticked up on Friday morning, peaking at 10.50 pence per share this morning, 10.53% above its closing price yesterday, according to LSEG data.
The company said on Friday that its ScanNav AI technology-powered applications are now a standard feature in the new GE HealthCare Voluson Expert Series 22 and 20 ultrasound machines.
Its AI technology is incorporated alongside GE Healthcare’s software application SonoLystlive, which uses ultrasound image recognition to capture foetal images in real time.
That software, which uses Intelligent Ultrasound’s AI technology, automatically recognises anatomy, captures images and logs them, minimising the need to manually freeze, annotate and store images.
Intelligent Ultrasound said the technology, which is now a standard feature of the latest versions of the Voluson Expert Series machines, “significantly reduces keystrokes and exam time for sonographers”.
The new technology builds on a long-term partnership agreement between Intelligent Ultrasound and GE Healthcare.
Its AI feature can also be added onto the healthcare company’s SonoLyst X/IR software on the existing Voluson SWIFT ultrasound machine.
Stuart Gall, chief executive officer of Intelligent Ultrasound, said: "By incorporating SonoLystlive as a standard feature onto its Voluson Expert 22 and 20 ultrasound machine GE HealthCare is leading the way in using AI software to improve obstetric workflows for the benefit of clinicians and patients.
“The Voluson Expert Series is a market-leading ultrasound machine in the global women's healthcare obstetrics market and SonoLystlive is a fantastic example of how AI software can help save scanning time, whilst de-stressing the scanning environment for the sonographer.”
