SpaceX delays Starship rocket launch until Saturday

SpaceX has pushed back the launch date for its Starship rocket’s second flight to Saturday from Friday, CEO Elon Musk said.

A piece of hardware related to flight control needs replacing, Musk said in a post on X.

"We need to replace a grid fin actuator, so launch is postponed to Saturday," Musk wrote on messaging platform X.

The launch is set to occur at SpaceX’s Starbase facility near Boca Chica, Texas along the Gulf of Mexico.

Earlier this week, SpaceX received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration to launch the 400-foot rocket for the second time.

The company conducted its a test launch in April but the rocket exploded a few minutes into its flight.
