Greatland Gold starts drilling at Ernest Giles following land access agreement

Ernest Giles lies within the highly mineralised Yilgarn Craton of Western Australia

Greatland Gold PLC (AIM:GGP, OTC:GRLGF) said it has started drilling at the Meadows prospect within its Ernest Giles acreage in Western Australia.

The start of work follows the signing of a land access agreement just two months ago in September.

A diamond drill rig is on-site with the first two holes co-funded by the Government of Western Australia for up to A$220,000 (£115,000).

Previous exploration at Ernest Giles included a program of 62,800m spaced vertical reverse circulation drill holes, largely focused on the Meadows prospect, in addition to airborne magnetics and ground gravity surveys.

The current drilling will build on this previous work, said Greatland, and provide important geological and structural information to inform a systematic reverse circulation drill program in 2024.

Shaun Day, managing director, commented: "Ernest Giles sits within an underexplored greenstone belt located north of the world-class Tropicana and Gruyere gold operations.

"As a 100% owned project, Ernest Giles represents an excellent exploration opportunity."
