Endeavour Mining's latest quarter 'strongest this year'

Endeavour Mining PLC (LSE:EDV, TSX:EDV, OTCQX:EDVMF) said the third quarter just ended was its strongest quarterly production performance this year at 281,000 ounces of gold.

Costs were also lower quarter-on-quarter at US$967 an ounce, though net income for the three months to the end of September 2023 dropped to US$60 million.

For the nine months of the year so far, production now totals 792,000oz with net income of US$137 million.

Cashflow for the third quarter was US$115 million, to make a total of US$453 million for the year so far.

Sebastien de Montessus, the Africa-focused FTSE 100 gold miner’s chief executive, said: “On the operational front, in light of the efforts made over the first half of the year, our third quarter saw the strongest performance so far this year, and we expect fourth quarter performance to be even stronger."

That positions the miner to hit full-year production guidance for the 11th consecutive year, he added.

"Looking ahead, we expect 2024 to be a strong year for Endeavour, as the brownfield expansion of Sabodala-Massawa and the Lafigué development project both remain on budget and on track to be commissioned next year."
