Lucid to adopt Tesla charging from 2025

Lucid Group Inc (NASDAQ:LCID) told investors that it is integrating the North American Charging Standard (NACS), otherwise referred to as the ‘Tesla charging standard’.

All of Lucid’s current Combined Charging System (CCS) vehicles will be able to charge at stations in the Tesla Supercharger network by using an adapter in 2025, and all new Lucid EVs will use NACS from 2025 onwards, the company said in a statement.

Chief executive Peter Rawlinson described it as an important step in giving customers access to reliable and convenient charging.

"We believe that a unified charging standard, backed by the nationwide rollout of future-ready higher-voltage charging stations, will be a critical step in empowering American consumers to adopt electric vehicles,” Rawlinson said.

In New York, Lucid stock was trading 0.46% higher in Tuesday’s premarket.
