Atlantic Lithium Ltd (AIM:ALL, OTCQX:ALLIF, ASX:A11) has added 8,000 metres (m) or 43% more to a drilling programme at its Ewoyaa lithium project in Ghana to expand the resource,
A mining licence for the project was recently issued by the Ghanaian government and this additional drilling will take the programme underway currently to 26,500m, said Atlantic, with completion scheduled for the second quarter of 2024.
In a statement, Atlantic added that latest assays from in-fill holes at the Ewoyaa Main, Anokyi and Ewoyaa South-2 deposits had extended mineralisation beyond the known resource area while delivering consistent high grades.
Shallow high-grade infill drill intersections included lithium grades of between 0.93-1.46% over widths of 14-53m and at depths from 81m.
Neil Herbert, executive chairman, said the additional drilling represents the commencement of an escalation in the company's exploration efforts following the award of the mining licence.
