Medicus Pharma (TSX-V:MDCX) CEO Dr. Raza Bokhari has hailed the company’s listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) as a “very exciting day” for the company.
The CEO joined Proactive from Toronto shortly after ringing the opening bell at the TSX on October 26.
Medicus Pharma (TSX-V:MDCX) is a clinical-stage, multi-strategy holding company focused on investing in and accelerating novel life sciences and biotechnology companies through Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved clinical trials.
Its flagship company SkinJect is focused on developing a non-invasive method of treating basal cell carcinoma, a type of skin cancer which is usually removed surgically.
“This is a 1,000-mile journey and we have taken some bold, important steps,” Bokhari told Proactive.
He highlighted the company’s recent appointment of Huma Qamar as its chief scientific officer and head of its research and development program.
“Dr. Qamar is highly accomplished and left a thriving position at another public company to come and join us at the ground level to strengthen the effort of our chief medical officer Dr. Edward Brennan,” he said.
“We are very excited about Dr. Qamar and the team we are building around her to advance not just the phase two trial of SkinJect but also expand our drug pipeline.”
The CEO concluded: “We hope to advance forward with more peaks and less valleys and a fruitful and sustainable return to our shareholders.”
