Palo Alto Networks to acquire Talon Cyber Security for $625M

Palo Alto Networks Inc (NYSE:PANW) has agreed to acquire Israel-based Talon Cyber Security, which specializes in building enterprise browsers for securing distributed workforces sources, in a deal valued at $625 million.

Palo Alto said Monday the acquisition is expected to extend its best-in-class Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solution to protect all managed and unmanaged devices.

"Integrating Talon with Prisma SASE will enable Palo Alto Networks to securely connect all users and devices to all applications, including private applications, and apply consistent security no matter who the user is and what device they use for work," Palo Alto Networks chief product officer Lee Klarich said in a statement.

The deal was Palo Alto’s second announced acquisition in Israel in the past week, having also acquired Dig Security for about $400 million.

Both Talon and Dig will be integrated into Palo Alto’s Prisma cloud security division.

Palo Alto's Israeli R&D center is its second largest outside of its California headquarters, with a focus primarily on developing its main products, including Cortex, which automates cyber incident management, and Prisma, designed for cloud security, CTech reported.

Shares of Palo Alto Networks eased 0.6% to $242.19 but have gained 75% year to date.
