Regency Silver Corp. (TSX-V:RSMX, OTCQB:RSMXF)’s recent high-grade gold drill results from its Dios Padre project in Mexico, which included 54.65 metres (m) of 5.34 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, as well as 7.36 g/t gold over 38m, has sparked much excitement from the company’s executive chairman Bruce Bragagnolo.
"To get that type of grade and width is nothing short of spectacular and to be able to define it and have it open with the copper, tells us we have a big system here," Bragagnolo told Proactive recently.
He noted the current drill program that began this winter has provided a lot of information about the breccia deposit, such as its orientation and dip, and the company is expanding it rapidly.
The deposit was located from a discovery hole drilled underneath a historic silver mine, which intersected 36 meters of 6.84 g/t gold, 0.88% copper, and 21 g/t silver.
Bragagnolo explained that, during the campaign, eight of the nine holes that targeted the lower Dios Padre breccia zone intersected mineralized pyrite-specularite breccia, with the results confirming that the mineralized breccia zone has a strike length of at least 180m and a depth extent of at least 150m.
"Our best and widest hole (at the farthest extent of the mineralized zone) is pointing us in that direction to the southeast, so we need to continue drilling over in that direction to expand this," he added.
Bragagnolo said he’s hoping Regency Silver can continue drilling sometime in January as activities grind to a halt in Mexico over the Christmas season.
