Premier African Minerals Ltd (AIM:PREM) said issues still need to be sorted to meet the quantity stipulated for a maiden lithium shipment from its Zulu lithium project due later this month.
Some 1,000t is to be shipped by 25 November and to do this will require resolution of the ongoing commissioning and optimisation issues, the overall plant performance and the delivery of competent grade to the plant, it added.
Ore sorting, instrumentation and material flow challenges are currently being addressed by contractor Stark International, said Premier.
Lithium concentrate is currently being produced at Zulu that meets the quality required, it added.
George Roach, chief executive, commented: "Meeting the initial shipment target date is our main priority at this time and we will provide further updates in due course.”
Premier added it had paid Stark fees of US$2.5 million through the issue of shares at 0.44p each.
Non-executive director Godfrey Manhambara is also to become non-executive chairman with George Roach reverting to his board role of chief executive.
