Vertiqal Studios (TSX:VRTS, OTCQB:GAMGF) has added a familiar face to the company as its new COO.
The Toronto-based media firm is bringing on content creator and entrepreneur Tyler Wells, effective November 1.
Wells is rejoining forces with Max Desmarais, Vertiqal’s president, after having previously co-founded ScaleLab, the world's largest independent YouTube Multi-channel Network.
Under their leadership, ScaleLab achieved an eight-figure exit in 2019.
Throughout his career, Wells has worked with renowned influencers and devised digital media and influencer marketing strategies for Fortune 500 companies, generating substantial revenue. In his most recent role, he led Strategy, Initiatives, and Global Expansion for a $500 million creator media and technology company.
Wells will help Vertiqal in shaping long-term strategy, scaling operations, establishing million-dollar partnerships, and leading global expansion efforts.
"Tyler has been part of the creator economy since YouTube first began the MCN (multi-channel network) community,” Jon Dwyer, Vertiqal’s CEO said in a statement.
“Having scaled and exited his first endeavor as a partner alongside our president, Max Desmarais, Tyler brings a unique skillset making him a perfect conductor as we scale into the US through platform, agency, and brand relationships."
Wells replaces outgoing COO Mike Cotton. The company thanked Cotton for his “dedicated service and significant contributions” and wished him success in his future endeavours.
Vertiqal also announced the promotion of Gopal Patel to the position of senior vice president, revenue operations, recognizing his dedication and expertise.
