Klondike Gold reports gold discoveries at Dominion target on Yukon project

Klondike Gold Corp. (TSX-V:KG) reported that its rock sampling and mapping program at the Dominion gold target on its Klondike District Property in Yukon, Canada has resulted in gold discoveries.

The rock sampling and mapping were conducted over a 3.5-kilometre (km) by 1.5 km area at the Dominion target, with the assay results from 81 rock samples and quart veins and local host rocks received.

Seven “highlight” outcrop samples within the Dominion target area assayed gold between 15.1 and 60.7 grams per ton (g/t), silver between 10 and 684 g/t, and tellurium between 2.5 and 10.2 g/t.

The company said it mapped three major parallel shear zones/thrusts with each traceable over a 2 km length.

The company said these shear zones were interpreted to control the distribution of localized gold-bearing shear veins and related extensional sheeted veins along the 2 km of their strike length.

"Our team has made new gold discoveries in outcrop following implementation of several upgrades to our exploration models including re-characterization of lithologic units and new structural ideas,” Klondike Gold CEO Peter Tallman said in a statement.

“It is exciting and energizing to use exploration concepts that work globally in productive orogenic gold belts to re-evaluate drill targets in the Klondike with new prospecting and mapping views and find visible gold in each of them.

“These targets are distributed over the 50 km strike length of the property which provides a scale of the gold district that Klondike Gold owns and is systematically exploring."

The mapping and sampling survey is part of the company’s broader 2023 efforts to assess structural controls in gold target areas to distinguish areas of gold mineralization with tonnage potential from smaller localized showings.

During 2023, the company completed 25 diamond drill holes at targets across the property for which assay results are pending.

Klondike Gold is a Vancouver-based gold exploration company advancing its 100%-owned Klondike District gold project located at Dawson City, Yukon, one of the top mining jurisdictions in the world.
