Electric Metals (TSX-V:EML) announced that assay results from the final seven drill holes of its recent program at its Emily manganese project in Minnesota have confirmed that thick intersections of high-grade manganese extend along trend for more than 1,100 meters (m) containing grades up to 46.3% manganese.
Highlights from the drill results include 46.3% manganese (59.78% manganese monoxide) over 1.46m within 16.62% manganese over 20.6m, and 44.6% manganese (57.59% manganese monoxide) over 1.43m within 12.31% manganese over 32.46m.
Drilling also returned 42.6% manganese (55.01% manganese monoxide) over 0.76m within 12.85% manganese over 64.68m and 41.1% manganese (53.07% manganese monoxide) over 1.43m within 25.63% manganese over 5.61m.
All seven drill holes intercepted high-grade manganese with drilled intervals of greater than 20 metres, the company noted.
Previously announced results from the first 20 drill holes of the drill program showed continuity of thick intervals of more than 30% manganese with a northerly dip and east-west strike direction.
Electric Metals (TSX-V:EML) said the drilling program has demonstrated “excellent” continuity of high-grade manganese and the mineralization has not been closed by drilling along trend or at depth.
"The thickness and grades of manganese have continued to the last drill hole, and we remain confident that we have substantially added to both the size and the average grade of the deposit,” Electric Metals (TSX-V:EML) CEO Gary Lewis said in a statement.
"The drilling program has been undertaken at the highest standard and achieved better outcomes than anticipated."
Lewis said the company was now focused on advancing metallurgical tests and finalizing a new NI 43-101 mineral resource estimate for the project, which remains on track for completion in late 2023.
"Environmental baseline data review and field studies are now underway and together with our social engagement programs, will form an important base for future project planning," the CEO said.
"The strategic value of U.S.-domiciled critical mineral projects such as the Emily manganese project has never been greater as the world transitions to clean energy and as domestic sources of supply becomes more important in an increasingly uncertain global landscape."
