MustGrow receives USDA organic certification for TerraSante crop fertilizer

MustGrow Biologics Corp. (TSX-V:MGRO, OTCQB:MGROF) has achieved a significant milestone by obtaining organic compliance certification from the USDA National Organic Program for its TerraSante crop fertilizer and soil amendment technology.

The organic certification, awarded by the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI), presents an opportunity for farmers to reduce the use of synthetic chemicals and fertilizers while meeting the increasing demand for organic biological products.

MustGrow’s TerraSante is now OMRI Listed under NOP: Plant Extracts, Class: Crop Fertilizers and Soil Amendments. Pending final registration of product approval by US state agencies, TerraSante will be marketed with the designation "OMRI listed for organic use."

TerraSante offers potential solutions to reduce fertilizer use while maintaining soil fertility and addressing climate change concerns. A soil amendment, the product contains plant proteins and carbohydrates that nourish soil microbes, potentially enhancing microbial activity, sustainable soil health, nutrient availability, and crop performance.

Initial development efforts will concentrate on regions in Washington, Idaho, Oregon, California, and Arizona before expanding throughout the United States.

"Agriculture needs new organic innovations to support food production and this organic certification further supports our belief that MustGrow's technologies could be impactful,” Colin Bletsky, COO of MustGrow said in a statement.

“The key US agricultural regions are under constant pressure to eliminate or reduce synthetic products, so natural, OMRI certified technologies, like TerraSante, have great promise for commercial-scale adoption."

The global fertilizer market is anticipated to reach $242 billion by 2030, including sub-markets for soil amendments and biofertility. These segments provide an estimated market opportunity of over $15 billion for MustGrow by 2030, presenting an alternative to synthetic fertilizers as part of sustainability and climate-friendly solutions for agriculture.

Based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, MustGrow is an agriculture biotech company developing organic biocontrol, soil amendment and biofertility products by harnessing the natural defense mechanism and organic materials of the mustard plant.
