Elon Musk will be among attendees at the world’s first summit exclusively on artificial intelligence (AI), due to be held at Britain’s Bletchley Park this week.
UK prime minister Rishi Sunak confirmed the Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) CEO and X (formerly Twitter) owner’s intention to attend, posting on X that the pair would meet in an interview on Thursday.

Heads of a host of technology companies are expected to attend the summit, including the likes of OpenAI boss Sam Altman and Meta Platforms Inc global affairs president Nick Clegg.
The summit itself is set to focus on the emerging risks of AI, since the use of chatbots and large language models has boomed this year.
This was sparked by the release of OpenAI’s ChatGPT in late 2022, which gained 100 million users faster than any other application in history.
Despite president Joe Biden signing an executive order on Monday requiring AI developers to share information with the US government, firm regulation around the emerging technology is yet to appear.
Discussions at the summit will focus on the risks of AI to national security and plans to mitigate such risks. The summit is due to take place on Wednesday and Thursday at Bletchley Park - itself famous as the place Allied codebreakers deciphered the Enigma code during the Second World War.
