Kromek wins three new CBRN contracts, one with large new customer

Kromek Group PLC (AIM:KMK) said it has won new orders worth more than US$1 million for its CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear) detection products, most of which will be recognised in the current financial year.

Three new orders have been secured, of which two are in nuclear security and one in bio-security technology.

The wins help to underpin forecasts for the current year, the company said in a statement, adding that the “sustained commercial momentum" in CBRN means it expects to win more.

Two of the orders were from existing customers and one from a new customer that is “a substantial, global defence corporation, which we believe represents a significant opportunity for further sales”, said chief executive Arnab Basu.

He added that demand for Kromek products was being driven by geopolitical insecurity.

“Governments and their agencies buy our products because they are best-of-breed and we have the ability to deploy rapidly,” he said.
