ECO Animal Health Group PLC shares scurried up 5% to 111p after the company won North American regulatory approval for its Aivlosin treatment to be given to a wider range of pigs.
A new 'sow safety' indication has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), removing the prior label that restricted the water soluble granules from being given to lactating or pregnant females, or males and females intended for breeding.
A similar move has been made by Canada’s Veterinary Drugs Directorate, the AIM-listed company noted.
Chief executive David Halls said the changes were “testament to the continued market development of our products and these new claims and labels further enhance the safety message already used for Aivlosin in pigs".
