Later in the day, US earnings season goes into overdrive, with Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) leading the way and Google owner Alphabet, Spotify, Visa, GM and Coca-Cola among the many others.
Microsoft could surprise on the upside, according to some analysts, while Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG), also reporting after the closing bell and also expected to post strong growth.
