Drugmaker Indivior PLC (LSE:INDV) has agreed to a US$385 million settlement over allegations of illegally hindering generic competition for its opioid addiction drug, Suboxone.
Following the announcement, Indivior's shares rose 4% as the deal signalled the conclusion of prolonged lawsuits tied to Suboxone, previously a top-selling treatment for addiction.
In June, Indivior agreed a US$102.5 million settlement with multiple US states over similar accusations. Additionally, in August, the company settled a class action lawsuit by health plans for US$30 million.
Indivior noted that, pending court approval, the recent settlement with wholesalers who purchased Suboxone directly would conclude the multi-district litigation related to the drug.
