Quantum Exponential Group plc, the quantum computing investment group, visited 10 Downing Street last week, after it was invited to discuss the future of the sector and how it can have a wider impact on technology industry.
Chief executive officer Steven Metcalfe joined MPs like Dominic Johnson, George Freeman, and Professor Julia Sutcliffe, as well as head of the UK Quantum Johnathan Legh-Smith for the meeting, which the group claimed, “was a testament to the growing recognition of quantum technologies as pivotal to the future of innovation and investment”.
Exchanging ideas and strategies from a range of varying UK-based quantum technology companies, the London-listed firm said it was “honoured to be part of this discussion”.
CEO Metcalfe said in a company statement: "It was clear from this morning that the UK government understands the critical nature of the technology and appreciates the need to collaborate with the private sector to ensure a robust and diverse investment landscape.”
In September, Quantum Exponetial won a six-month government contract with the department of science and information technology (DSIT) to help examine and advise on strategies to help increase the private investment into the quantum industry.
Metcalfe concluded: "The work we are doing on behalf of DSIT is testament to the knowledge and network we have here at Quantum Exponential which will enable us to advise the UK Government on how to attract investment in the UK quantum technology market."
Trading on the AQUIS exchange, Quantum Exponetial is currently flat on Monday, having opened at around 2p.
