Microsoft unveils security copilot; aims to revolutionise enterprise cybersecurity

Microsoft has rolled out its security copilot, an AI-driven security analysis tool, in early access for select customers.

Designed to fast-track threat mitigation, Security Copilot draws from Microsoft's global threat intelligence and cutting-edge large language models.

The AI assistant will provide rapid, tailored advice to security teams with features like real-time malware analysis and instant incident summaries.

The tool allows for a simplified approach to complex queries and summarises security incidents in a user-friendly format.

Copilot uses the technology that also powers ChatGPT, a company in which Microsoft has invested billions of dollars.

???? Microsoft 365 Copilot will be generally available for Enterprise customers on November 1.

Save up to 40% of time

Vasu Jakkal, corporate vice president for Security, Compliance and Identity at Microsoft, stated that it also integrated with Microsoft's 365 Defender Extended Detection and Response (XDR) platform and offered free access to Microsoft Defender Threat Intelligence data for early access participants.

"Security Copilot is already helping our preview customers save up to 40% of their time on core security operations tasks," said Jakkal.

Active collaboration

For organisations working with managed security service providers (MSSPs), the early access program provides an option for expanded access to Security Copilot, thus facilitating active collaboration.

"In security, minutes count. With Security Copilot, defenders can respond to security incidents within minutes instead of hours or days," Jakkal noted in an earlier statement.

To join the early access program, customers are urged to reach out to their Microsoft sales representative and consult the official website for complete details.
