The Premarket: American Express, SLB, Rivian Automotive, Solaredge, CVS, Intuitive Surgical

American Express Company (NYSE:AXP) saw muted trading in premarket, down 0.2% at $149.30, despite reporting record revenue and better-than-expected third-quarter earnings of $3.30 per share.

Schlumberger Limited. (NYSE:SLB), the oil and gas contractor formerly called Schlumberger, was down 2.4% to $58.55 after slightly stronger than forecast earnings, reported at 78 cents per share.

Rivian Automotive Inc (NASDAQ:RIVN), down 0.5% to $17.07, confirmed plans to start building its US$5 billion Georgia factory early next year and will continue to open retail "spaces" in the coming months. Based in California, the electric truck company only sells online due to Georgia's rules requiring auto manufacturers to have dealers. Read more

Solaredge Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:SEDG) plummeted 30% to $79.05 after it revealed profits and gross margins would be lower than previously expected in the third quarter. Read more

CVS Health Corp (NYSE:CVS), up 0.27% to $70.80, said yesterday it is to remove oral cough and cold products with phenylephrine as the only active ingredient from its shelves following growing concerns over the drug’s effectiveness. Read more

Intuitive Surgical (NASDAQ:ISRG) shares were down 5.3% to $259, after the company’s quarterly revenue fell short of expectations. The surgical robotics company posted third-quarter revenue of $1.74 billion, up from $1.56 billion a year earlier but slightly short of the analyst consensus of $1.77 billion. Read more
