United Airlines Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:UAL) stock fell nearly 5% in extended trading on a weaker-than-expected profit forecast for the fourth quarter.
For the three months to September 30, 2023, the airline reported adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $3.65, compared to the Street expectation of $3.40. Revenue was $14.5 billion, ahead of the expected $14.44 billion, according to Zacks Investment Research.
However, the airline said higher fuel costs, estimated at $3.28 per gallon, and pausing its flights into Tel Aviv, Israel during the Israel-Hamas conflict will drag on its profits during the upcoming fourth quarter.
Shares of Omnicom Group (NYSE:OMC) dipped 1.4% despite beating Street expectations for third-quarter earnings and revenue.
The brand and advertising services company posted earnings of $1.86 per share in the period ended September 30, up from $1.77 a year earlier and expectations of $1.84. Revenue was $3.58 billion, up 4% year-over-year and ahead of expectations of $3.55 billion.
Interactive Brokers Group stock declined 4.3% after the company reported third-quarter adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $1.55, up from $1.08 a year earlier and better than the $1.51 analyst consensus forecast.
The company, which through its affiliates provides automated trade execution and custody of securities, commodities and foreign exchange on over 150 markets, generated revenue for the period of $1.14 billion, an improvement from $847 million a year ago while also edging past expectations of $1.11 billion.
Meanwhile, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has found a $1 billion customer for its 365 cloud productivity tools in Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN), according to reporting from Insider citing an internal document.
Amazon has committed to the $1 billion deal over five years and secured more than 1 million Microsoft 365 license seats, per the report.
