Oil & Gas

Mosman Oil and Gas CEO Andy Carroll discusses farm-in deal and plans

Mosman Oil and Gas Ltd (AIM:MSMN) has entered into a farm-in agreement with Greenvale Gold Pty Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Greenvale Energy Ltd, for its EP 145 asset in the Northern Territories of Australia. Andy Carroll, the CEO of Mosman, spoke to Thomas Warner to shed light on this pivotal agreement and the company's plans.

Thomas Warner: Can you provide an overview of the farm-in agreement for the EP 145 asset in the Northern Territories of Australia?

Andy Carroll: Certainly. We're extremely pleased to announce this funding arrangement with Greenvale. The agreement is comprehensive, covering both seismic activities in the third permit year and drilling operations in the fourth permit year. This essentially means that we have two years of funding fully secured under this agreement, which is a significant advantage for us. It allows us to focus on the core activities of exploration without the distraction of financial constraints.

TW: What led to the decision to opt for a farm-in agreement instead of a spin-off Initial Public Offering (IPO)?

Andy Carroll: The decision was a carefully considered one. Initially, we were leaning towards a spin-off IPO, especially when market conditions appeared to be favourable earlier this year. However, the market landscape has been quite challenging recently. Many IPOs have not been as successful as anticipated, which led us to reconsider our options. The farm-in agreement not only allows us to sidestep the considerable costs associated with an IPO but also provides us with the financial certainty needed to proceed with our exploration programme. It's a win-win situation for us.

TW: How does this agreement benefit Mosman financially?

AC: The financial benefits of this agreement are multi-faceted. First and foremost, we receive an upfront cash payment, which is always a welcome boost. This immediate financial injection allows us to concentrate on our exploration activities without the immediate need for additional fundraising. It essentially provides us with the liquidity to move forward confidently with our plans.

TW: Can you tell us about Greenvale's involvement and why they are a good fit for this partnership?

AC: Greenvale is an excellent fit for this partnership for several reasons. Their chairman, Neil Biddle, has a proven track record in the lithium industry, having successfully led Pilbara Minerals from a startup to a multi-billion-dollar lithium producer. His experience and established access to capital markets make him an invaluable partner as we venture into the helium and hydrogen sector. We're highly optimistic about the synergies between the two companies and look forward to a long and fruitful collaboration.

TW: What does the future hold for Mosman Oil & Gas Ltd?

AC: The future looks promising for Mosman. We continue to focus on optimising production and revenue from our existing assets in the United States, thereby ensuring a positive cash flow. The farm-in agreement for the Australian asset is a key milestone that has been in the works for some time. With a new board member and ongoing plans to explore further opportunities, we believe Mosman is poised for continued success in the energy sector. This agreement serves as a cornerstone for our future endeavours, and we're very pleased to have reached this milestone.
