BATM Advanced Communications Ltd (LSE:BVC), a specialist in real-time technologies for networking solutions and medical laboratory systems, has secured an expanded five-year order from NGA 911 LLC, a provider of emergency connectivity services in the United States.
This new agreement comes on the heels of the successful deployment of BATM's Edgility platform, initially announced in early June.
BATM said it anticipates additional business from NGA as the Edgility platform continues to roll out across current and new regions in the US.
"It is great to receive this new order for Edgility, which follows the successful deployment of our edge computing solution under the original engagement," said BATM chief executive Moti Nagar.
"We have received excellent feedback from NGA regarding Edgility's performance and this expanded order is testament to their satisfaction. We expect this momentum to continue as they roll-out our solution across more of their extensive network.
"Along with the increasing interest that we are receiving in Edgility from potential customers globally, we are very excited about the near-term prospects for this solution."
NGA leverages Edgility to power the call-handling systems for both 911 Emergency Services and the 988 National Suicide Prevention & Mental Health Crisis Lifeline.
The platform's edge computing capabilities enable critical applications to run closer to end-users, thereby reducing network latency and ensuring faster call resolution times.
Its virtualisation feature allows multiple applications to run on a single small-form edge device, cutting down on the need for extra hardware and reducing power consumption significantly.
