Anglo Asian Mining PLC (AIM:AAZ, OTC:AGXKF) has reiterated its revised production guidance and does not expect any production from its flotation and agitation plants at Gedabek in Azerbaijan this year.
Processing at the mine was halted while an independent review of the tailings facilities was carried out and did not find evidence of environmental contamination.
A formal process to restart operations is now underway with the Azerbaijan government, said the statement.
Anglo Asian restated an earlier estimate of production for the year is 30,000 ounces gold equivalent this year, which reflects the disruption from the shutdowns and lower grades earlier in the year.
Third-quarter output totalled 5,295oz, making 28,696oz for the nine months of 2023 so far.
Net cash was US$1.6 million on 30 September 2023 with inventory at market value of US$7.0 million.
Reza Vaziri, chief executive, said: "This was a challenging quarter for the company with operations impacted by the environmental inspection.
"Our focus was to cooperate fully with the government and ensure the environmental inspection was carried out properly.
"The inspection's findings highlighted areas for improvement regarding company response systems, resources and protocols. We are now working with the government to ensure these issues are very quickly addressed.
"Nevertheless, we were pleased that allegations of environmental contamination were proved to be without merit with the report recognising the company operates within accepted high industry standards and guidelines."
