Professional Fortnite player 'Chico' has won $200,000 after finishing third in the prestigious Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) final while playing under the Guild Esports PLC (LSE:GILD, OTCQB:GULDF) banner.
The event, hosted at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen on 15 October, provided significant visibility to Guild with Chico publicly described as 'Guild Chico'.
A proportion of the prize money went to Guild in line with industry practice and contractual agreements between the company and Guild players.
Fortnite is among the most popular competitive gaming titles in the world, with half a billion registered users as of September 2023.
