Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) will report third-quarter earnings after the market closes on Wednesday, and investors will be hoping for better news than they got earlier this month when the electric vehicle (EV) maker published its production and delivery numbers.
The Street consensus for Tesla is revenue of $24.16 billion and earnings of $0.74 per share, compared to $21.45 billion and earnings of $0.95 per share.
That consensus took a hit, though, when Tesla told investors it produced 430,488 vehicles in the quarter, delivering 435,059 units — short of the 461,000 expected by the market. Roughly 90 days ago, Tesla’s consensus EPS was $0.88, according to reports.
That said, Tesla has met or surpassed analyst’s EPS expectations in each of the last four quarters.
Investors will be watching for specifics on the Tesla Cybertruck launch, as well as a confirmation of the company’s 2023 delivery outlook.
Shares of Tesla dropped nearly 3% Friday to $251.12.
