Analysts at Research Capital have maintained their ‘Speculative Buy’ rating for Royal Helium Ltd (TSX-V:RHC, OTCQB:RHCCF) on the “positive” news that it has commenced the start-up of its Steveville helium purification facility after completing the commissioning phase.

They have also stuck to their $1.15 price target for the stock.

There could be some market-moving updates for industrial metals at the upcoming large-cap mining reporting season, with Anglo American PLC (LSE:AAL) selected by JPMorgan as its 'top tip'.

The season for the European miners kicks off with operational results for Rio Tinto PLC (LSE:RIO) on 17 October and fellow Anglo-Aussie giant BHP Group Ltd (LSE:BHP, ASX:BHP) and Antofagasta PLC (LSE:ANTO) the day after, with Anglo American and Fresnillo PLC (LSE:FRES) the week after, and Glencore PLC (LSE:GLEN) wrapping things up on the final Monday of the month.

Wagamama-owner The Restaurant Group PLC (LSE:RTN) could be poised to receive another bid after the takeover offer of 65p per share from Apollo Funds, was deemed too low by some analysts and investors.

“We do not believe it reflects the quality of the estate (especially having recently exited the challenged leisure business), the freehold asset backing (c £160 million) and the progress it was making across its strategic objectives on margin accretion (250-350bps) and deleveraging (under 1.5x EBITDA),” analysts at Shore Capital said.

Publicly traded companies offer better value right now than the private sector — that’s the verdict of a majority of private equity investors polled in a study by the investment banking arm of Numis.

The study by Numis Securities, which polled 200 senior private-equity professionals who invest in the UK mid-market, is the latest testament to a gaping disconnect between high private company valuations and comparably cheap publicly listed companies.

GSK PLC's (LSE:GSK, NYSE:GSK) latest out-of-court Zantac deal is important to the ongoing "overhang" over the investment case, Citigroup said.

The US investment bank reiterated its belief that the FTSE 100 group will ultimately settle the entirety of the Zantac litigation "for $5bn or less" in the first quarter of 2024.
