Gold Basin reports undrilled gold anomalies at flagship project in Arizona

Gold Basin Resources Corporation (TSX-V:GXX) said final soil assays collected during a 530-sample geochemistry and prospecting program at its Gold Basin gold project in northwestern Arizona have delineated multiple regional undrilled gold anomalies that remain open for extension.

The company said the goal of the sampling program was to evaluate a defined area of highly prospective ground which hosts more than 125 sites of small-scale historical mining to the northeast of Cyclopic oxide gold deposit.

It said the soil assays show major gold trends remain open at the margin of the soils grid and expansion to soil sampling coverage to the northwest and southeast is planned to commence shortly.

The miner said the assays also show clear zonation of key elements in soil geochemistry, demonstrating distinct temperature gradients of a regional hydrothermal system.

It said extremely low concentrations of sulfur, an average of 0.018% or 180 parts per million in 530 soils, suggest an iron oxide gold model.

“Assays from this geochemical program further substantiate the presence of a regional gold-mineralizing event at the Gold Basin district, with the delineation of several undrilled high-tenor gold anomalies proximal to known surface oxide gold deposits,” Gold Basin CEO Colin Smith said.

“The new rare earth element, trace element and multielement data demonstrate distinct zonations of key elements, signifying a major kilometre-scale temperature gradient typical of major hydrothermal gold systems, with a geochemical affinity to an iron oxide gold system.”

The company said detailed geological and structural mapping has been completed of the area of soil sampling coverage, and synthesis and interpretation are ongoing.

Gold Basin is advancing the 42 square kilometre Gold Basin Project, located in the tier-one mining jurisdiction of Mohave County, Arizona.
