Neogen Corporation (NASDAQ:NEOG), a specialist in food safety solutions, is set to unveil its first-quarter earnings Tuesday (October 10) with investors expecting a quiet start to the new financial year.
The Lansing, Michigan-based company, which has been a trailblazer in detecting harmful substances in food since 1982, is expected to post earnings of 2.5 cents a share, exactly half the figure achieved in the same period last year.
However, the sales outlook is robust, with the Street expecting a 75% year-over-year jump to $231.1 million.
Neogen's global footprint spans from the United States and Canada to Europe, Mexico, Brazil, India, and China.
Its share price has been on a roll, climbing 11% year-to-date and a remarkable 39% over the past 12 months.
In early trade, the stock was down 32 cents at $16.81, valuing the business at $3.65 billion.
