Québec Nickel utilizes AI technology to reveal multiple new targets at Ducros

Québec Nickel Corp (CSE:QNI, OTCQB:QNICF) said it has identified over a dozen new targets at its flagship Ducros project by leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology.

Working with ALS GoldSpot Discoveries, Québec Nickel initiated an extensive review and synthesis of exploration data collected at the Ducros property, aiming to streamline ongoing exploration endeavors and generate nickel-sulphide-focused targets.

The initiative resulted in the generation of over a dozen new nickel-sulphide targets, strategically located across the Ducros property. Notably, some of these new targets displayed a geophysical conductive response similar to the Fortin Sill Zone, lying along strike with the Fortin Sill Zone and adjacent to the recently discovered Q-Zone.

The first objective was to use the SmartTARGET AI technology, trained with the unique fingerprint of the Ni-Cu-PGE Fortin Sill Zone, to generate meaningful targets across the Ducros property.

The study also aimed to reinterpret the geology underlying the Ducros claims using the new exploration data.

According to Québec Nickel, the AI algorithms were trained utilizing a multitude of exploration datasets, including VTEM, airborne gravity, high-resolution drone magnetics, Lidar surveys, surface biogeochemical surveys, diamond drilling assays, lithogeochemical, and geotechnical databases.

In parallel with the AI targeting project, ALS GoldSpot conducted a litho-structural reinterpretation of Ducros, utilizing short wavelength airborne magnetic data and the growing Ducros drillhole database to give Québec Nickel a comprehensive understanding of the primary geological structural framework – key for targeting the most prospective Ni-Cu-PGE targets within the vast Ducros property.

Looking ahead, exploration efforts continue at the Fortin Sill target area, with a focus on exploring additional Ni-Cu-PGE sulphides down-plunge and along the strike of the main mineralized showing. This phase involves up to 5,000 meters of drilling and downhole electromagnetic geophysical surveys to identify and target conductive Ni-Cu-PGE sulphides.

Furthermore, Québec Nickel recently announced key corporate changes, with David Patterson resuming the role of CEO, effective October 1, 2023, replacing Richard Dufresne.

The company thanked Dufresne for taking the helm in April 2023 “on short notice” and leading QNI through a challenging forest fire-shortened summer exploration season.
