Graphene Manufacturing Group Ltd (TSX-V:GMG, OTC:GMGMF) has officially named Brandon Leong as its finance chief starting from October 17, 2023.
Leong's appointment follows the interim tenure of Scott Richardson, who has been serving as the interim chief financial officer since July. Richardson will continue working with Leong until the end of January 2024.
Leong brings extensive CFO experience, drawing from more than 20 years of financial leadership roles. His career spans CFO positions, deputy CFO roles, and various financial and commercial directorships in both publicly listed and private companies including PWC in Australia and the United States, CPB Contractors (Construction), Aurizon (Rail), and Holcim (Construction Materials).
"I'm looking forward to working with Brandon in the commercial, finance and capital markets areas of the company to support GMG's ongoing commercial development and finance needs,” GMG's CEO Craig Nicol said in a statement announcing Leong’s appointment.
“I expect his leadership work in Australia and USA in very large multi-billion dollar transactions will support the progress of the company through a range of planned near term milestones including ramping up Thermal XR sales, meeting our Battery development milestones, and starting up our new graphene manufacturing expansion plant over the next six months.”
Brisbane-based GMG specializes in clean technology, providing energy-saving and energy storage solutions utilizing their in-house manufactured graphene through a unique proprietary production process.
One of GMG's key innovations is a production method that decomposes natural gas (methane) into graphene, hydrogen, and residual hydrocarbon gases, producing high-quality, cost-effective, scalable, and low-contaminant graphene suitable for various clean technology applications. Their current focus revolves around de-risking and developing commercial-scale capabilities while securing market applications.
