Anglesey Mining boss hands in notice just as Parys Mountain drilling starts

Jo Battershill will remain as an Anglesey non-exec after he stands down as chief executive

Anglesey Mining PLC (AIM:AYM)’s chief executive has resigned just days before the first drilling campaign in years gets underway at its Parys Mountain project in Wales.

Jo Battershill is off to become managing director of Silver Mines Limited, an ASX-listed, Australia-based silver development company where he is currently a non-executive director.

That job starts on 1 January 2024 and until a successor is appointed he will remain as Anglesey’s chief executive to oversee the drilling and other work programmes.

Battershill will also remain as an Anglesey non-exec after he stands down as chief executive.

John F Kearney, Anglesey Mining, commented: "We are pleased that Jo has agreed to continue as a non-executive director of Anglesey, and we look forward to his ongoing contributions to the company in the future."

Work on finding a new CEO will start imminently, Kearney added.

Anglesey said the work programmes currently are the Northern Copper Zone infill drilling at Parys Mountain, with the rig scheduled to arrive on site the week of 16 October.

Also planned is metallurgical test work for the White Rock and Engine Zones, which includes a trade-off study between the Dense Media Separation and X-ray transmission preconcentration processes.

Environmental and social impact assessments for the Parys Mountain project are also ongoing while gap analysis is underway for the environmental baseline studies at the Grängesberg iron ore project in Sweden.
