British defence contractor QinetiQ Group PLC (LSE:QQ.) has secured a five-year, US$127 million contract from the US Office of the Secretary of Defense Strategic Capabilities Office (SCO).
According to a statement, QinetiQ will provide “secure, technologically advanced services and products” aimed at helping SCO deploy new and enhanced capabilities in support of strategic operations.
The contract will support SCO’s mission to identify, analyse, and prototype disruptive applications of new systems, and implement emerging technologies to create operational effects that counter strategic adversaries.
It follows a US$224 million contract award to the group by the Space Development Agency in August.
QinetiQ also won an US$84 million contract to make bomb suits for the US Army's bomb disposal experts earlier this week.
Steve Wadey, group chief executive of QinetiQ, stated: "The award of this new contract is evidence of our US business continuing to deliver against our ambitious growth plan.
“The capabilities we acquired with Avantus last year are highly relevant to our customers and provide key services in support of their mission to solve some of the most complex national security challenges."
