Just as Carnival PLC (LSE:CCL), the cruise line company, is able to record its first quarterly profit since the pandemic, Peel Hunt downgrades the stock, in turn sending shares 6% lower on Tuesday.

Having posted third-quarter results last week, Carnival was able to impress shareholders with over US$6.8 billion in revenue and a net income of US$1.07 billion.

Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC (LSE:RR.)’s place on the shortlist to supply the UK with new mini-nuclear reactors could pave the way for growth in value, analysts have said.

Though Citi Group noted that a contract to supply such small modular reactors (SMRs) could be worth between 7p and 8p a share, there is scope for this to grow, the bank said.

BAE Systems PLC (LSE:BA.) has received another upgrade following the award of the £4 billion SSN-AUKUS UK nuclear submarine contract yesterday.

UBS said that after SSN-AUKUS it is increasing its price target by a further 6% to 1,220p, with the group well placed as European and Asian governments up their weapons spending in the current decade.

Daniel Lee’s appointment as Burberry Group PLC (LSE:BRBY)’s chief creative officer in September 2022 came with high hopes of a turnaround for an iconic British fashion brand struggling with lagging top-line growth and industry-wide headwinds.

Not unique to Burberry, reduced China demand, labour shortages and cost-of-living pressures were all sources of concern for Burberry that Lee had to contend with.
