Futura Medical PLC (AIM:FUM, OTC:FAMDF), the drug developer specialising in sexual health products, has secured a significant win with the European Patent Office granting protection for MED3000, its erectile dysfunction (ED) gel.
This patent will offer protection for the product, known commercially as Eroxon, across all European markets until 2040.
The company also actively pursues patent applications in other crucial ED markets, including the United States. Additionally, Futura is progressing in extending the protection scope through further patent filings.
Chief executive James Barder said: "The allowance of this patent application further cements the intellectual property of MED3000, as we support our distributors' roll out of our fast-acting topically applied gel for the treatment of erectile dysfunction available without a doctor's prescription across the world.
"This is an important next step as we continue to grow our business and strengthen the Eroxon brand."
