Blue Star Helium secures final Voyager plant components; installation set to proceed

Blue Star Helium Ltd (ASX:BNL, OTC:BSNLF) has secured the generator package for its Voyager Helium Project in Las Animas County, Colorado, and has now acquired all principal plant components needed for helium recovery and processing.

Blue Star executed an agreement for the generator with Red-D-Arc Inc, an experienced provider of generators with offices in the US, Canada, the UK, France and the Netherlands. Red-D-Arc is part of the Air Liquide group.

Securing the power generator was the remaining third of three principal plant components necessary for IACX Energy to install the helium recovery plant at the 643 MMcf Voyager project in the current quarter.

On track for inaugural production

Blue Star managing director and CEO Trent Spry said, “Securing this power source is another significant milestone as we move towards scheduled production at Voyager.

“Red-D-Arc has worked with Blue Star to tune the power package to our specific plant and compression requirements and it has been a pleasure working with them.

“Securing the generator via a lease agreement further demonstrates the company’s plan to keep capital costs low for our inaugural helium production project at Voyager.”

IACX is a fully integrated helium production, processing and marketing business that will supply and operate Bue Star’s proposed helium plant in exchange for a monthly payment, freeing Blue Star from any capital costs associated with fabrication of the plant.

IACX expects to install and commission the facility by the end of this year. It will utilise its proprietary, PSA-based helium recovery units, which the company is confident will create economical helium extraction and purification from natural gas to high purity with minimal helium losses.
