CleanTech Lithium starts work at new exploration projects in Chile

The main focus remains Laguna Verde (PFS underway) and Francisco Basin (scoping study completed) projects

CleanTech Lithium PLC (AIM:CTL, OTCQX:CTLHF) said it has received initial sample results from its exploration projects in Chile: Llamara and a new undertaking in the Salar de Atacama basin.

Llamara, a greenfield project in Northern Chile, had two targets drill tested.

The first well’s samples were depleted in lithium while the first batch of surface recorded minor lithium enrichment along with high grades of boron. A second batch of surface sample results are pending.

At Salar de Atacama a geophysics programme has identified a subsurface brine aquifer target

Here, community engagement will also be crucial, CleanTech Lithium said, adding its Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) removes the need for water-intensive evaporation ponds.

The company said while these two projects add potential upside, its main focus remains Laguna Verde (PFS underway) and Francisco Basin (scoping study completed) projects.

Aldo Boitano, chief executive, added: "While we continue to progress our key projects Laguna Verde and Francisco Basin, exploration at additional prospects in Chile is also advancing.

“At our Llamara project we are in the process of receiving and evaluating the results, while initial geophysics results from new licences applied for recently at the Salar de Atacama basin are very positive.”
