Forrestania Resources reports promising results from the Iron Cap East drill program

Forrestania Resources Ltd (ASX:FRS) has intersected spodumene-bearing pegmatite in multiple drill holes at its flagship Forrestania Lithium Project, in WA’s southern Yilgarn region.

Speaking to Proactive, Forrestania managing director Michael Anderson discussed the promising results from the Iron Cap East prospect, along with the company’s follow up plans.

Anderson divulged the company's latest exploration outcomes at Iron Cap East. He pointed to the known stacked pegmatite systems adjacent at the Calypso prospect, saying “we know this system is hosting lithium mineralisation” with the drilling at Iron Cap East replicating "occurrences of spodumene and some pretty anomalous lithium grade".

He said the search goes on “with some very educated targeting around where we might be able to combine that structure and geometry of the pegmatite system with this favourable geochemistry”.

Discussing follow up plans, Anderson outlined that while “the pegmatites might be narrow here, it’s open at depth and it’s open along strike. We know that the pegmatites in this region pinch and swell, we've heard that from our peers as well in the region.”

He credited exploration manager Melissa McClelland and her team as “doing a great job of putting together the targeting strategy, and that will continue here”.

In terms of geological attributes and mineralisation, Anderson elaborated on the area's potential. "Mt Holland, the world-class deposit to the north, is more of a flatline system of stacked pegmatites," he explained.

“Within the broader region, you can get all sorts of physical occurrences of the pegmatite via multiple stacked, more flat lining systems, the vertical systems, the geochemistry is zoned sometimes and people talk about the fractionation, and the ratios of certain pathfinder elements, etc.”

“Ultimately, the presence of spodumene and grades of lithium at or around one percent — hopefully higher — is what you're looking for. I guess we've seen all of those things in individual settings and, clearly, at Mt Holland. They've got it all together, and that's what everybody's looking for.”

Forrestania Resources is also looking beyond Iron Cap East, as Anderson concluded, "We do have plenty of things to follow up, not just at South East Iron Cap. We'll carry on with our soil program that’s generating additional targets, some to the north, closer to Mt Holland. So, there’s plenty for shareholders to stay abreast of and keep in touch with going forward."
