Solstice Gold Corp. (TSX-V:SGC) said it has expanded its land position 73 square kilometres westward at its Stewart Lake lithium project in the English River Subprovince (ERS), Ontario, following the discovery of numerous fertile pegmatites.
This brings the company’s total land package in the ERS to 268 square kilometres.
The company said about 65% of the property has been evaluated at a reconnaissance scale, with field programs to continue until October while weather conditions permit.
Over the course of the 2023 field season, Solstice said it identified pegmatites which varied in thickness from meter-scale to more than 30 metres thick, with several pegmatites exceeding 25 metres.
They have identified “abundant” fertile indicators in the pegmatites, containing one or more of muscovite, garnet, tourmaline, cordierite, and a widespread unidentified blue-green mineral.
Solstice CEO Pablo McDonald said the company’s exploration work confirmed they were in a newly identified area of prospective pegmatites.
“This positive first pass has already generated several promising geochemical and mineralogical anomalies that will be the focus of our follow-up efforts,” he said in a statement.
“We now are on the vanguard of lithium exploration in the ERS; we have the largest land package in the ERS and based on the new recognition of widespread fertile pegmatites from our reconnaissance-scale work to date, we consider the potential for lithium-cesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatites to be high.”
Solstice is an exploration company with quality, district-scale gold and lithium projects in established mining regions of Canada.
