NatWest says cash deposit glitch resolved

NatWest Bank said that an issue of cash deposited yesterday not showing in customers’ accounts is now resolved.

A number of customers said cash put in through ATMs had gone missing, with some adding they had gone overdrawn as a result and were worried they would be charged fees.

“I deposited some money yesterday and the transaction has disappeared, help?” commented one angry customer on X, formerly Twitter.

Another added: “I paid money into my account yesterday and transferred it. The deposit has disappeared and left me overdrawn.”

In a statement, NatWest said: "Cash payments to a small number of accounts have been delayed.

"The issue is now resolved and customer accounts are being updated."

How many people had been affected by the issue was not revealed by the bank.
