Faron Pharmaceuticals Limited (AIM:FARN, OTC:FPHAF) is appointing Dr Birge Berns as its interim chief medical officer (CMO), replacing Dr Marie-Louise Fjällskog, who is taking up the role of non-executive director of the company.
Berns comes with an extensive background in oncology, clinical medicine, rheumatology and immunology.
She has over 25 years of experience in senior leadership roles in global pharmaceutical companies, including Sanofi Aventis and Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ).
The appointment aims to bolster Faron's ongoing efforts in advancing cancer immunotherapies, particularly as the company continues to develop bexmarilimab.
In her new role, Fjällskog is expected to continue contributing to the development of Faron's immunotherapy asset, bexmarilimab, by offering her clinical and regulatory expertise.
The changes are expected to be signed off at an extraordinary general meeting on Friday, 22 September.
