MySize Inc (NASDAQ:MYSZ) has reported positive results from a pilot program of its Software-as-a-Service solution Smart Catalogue with Portugal-based brand Salsa Jeans.
Shares of the company rose on the news, up 15% at US$1.35 in early trade on Wednesday.
The company said that Salsa Jeans, a customer of its size recommendation platform Naiz Fit, used Smart Catalogue to validate its jeans collection's size consistency across several factors, including testing for consistency with a customer's stated size, consistency across Salsa Jeans' numerous styles, and across all six of the leg cut shapes it offers.
A total of 342 tests were carried out across 31 patterns on 32 people of different body morphologies matching the brand's target customer of women between 30-50 years of age. AI tools were used for data capture and the analysis of test results and comments.
Smart Catalogue provided Salsa Jeans with suggestions to adjust its sizing to optimize size-appropriate fit, with the patterns with the highest deviation between the intended fit and actual fit identified, MySize said.
It also provided insights on which size ranges to offer at its different brick-and-mortar stores based on demographic data.
MySize said Salsa Jeans plans to use Smart Catalogue in the future to gather additional data and build AI models to help its design department create new collections.
"Smart Catalogue is at the forefront of addressing a clear need in the market for data-driven solutions that address apparel fit issues at its very source, during the design phase. We're empowering and supporting the creatives in the fashion industry by informing their intuition with data," MySize CEO Ronen Luzon said in a statement.
"We were very pleased to work with Salsa Jeans and to provide data that will inform their future designs, ultimately leading to even better brand loyalty for Salsa Jeans, fewer returns, and a cleaner environment for all."
MySize is an omnichannel e-commerce platform and provider of AI-driven measurement solutions including MySizeID and recently acquired Naiz Fit to drive revenue growth and reduce costs for its business clients.
