Retail giants bring pre-holiday sales battle forward to October

Major retailers are kicking off their pre-holiday sales even earlier this year as they try to get in first to secure consumers’ dollars.

Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN) announced on Monday that its Prime members Big Deal Days sale will run from October 10 to 11, with Target Corporation (NYSE:TGT) and Walmart Inc (NYSE:WMT) following this up by announcing pre-holiday sales for the same month.

Target on Tuesday confirmed its Circle Week savings event will run from October 1 to 7, earlier than Amazon’s Prime sale in what appears to be an attempt to undercut the e-commerce giant.

Shoppers can access deals in-store and online by signing up for a free Target Circle account.

Meanwhile, Walmart also said its Deals – Holiday Kickoff online-only event will run from October 9 to 12.

Top deals include discounts on the Apple Watch SE, the Sony 75-inch Class BRAVIA XR X90K 4K HDR Full Array LED TV, the HP 15-inch Pentium Laptop, and the Mega Barbie The Movie Dreamhouse.
